Mécénat Musical Société Générale
Connecting the values excellence, sharing and innovation

A cultural sponsorship policy that is perfectly aligned with the Group's commitments

Along with the field of contemporary art, classical music is one of the two cornerstones of the Société Générale Group's cultural sponsorship policy. Perfectly aligned with the Group's culture and core values, this policy features:

constancy and continuity of Group commitments over a time span of several decades;the desire to promote creativity and innovation with a firm focus on excellence, a reflection of the performance requirements that Société Générale teams also impose on themselves; the decision to target open-mindedness, outreach and discussion with all the relevant publics – the cultural community, the general public, Group employees, etc.

Outstanding team spirit

The values borne by music in general and by classical music in particular are a perfect fit with those of the Société Générale. A strong personal investment closely allied with the efforts of the orchestra as a united ensemble, group harmony based on an ability to share and listen to each other, the force of a group effort that transcends the sum of the individual talents… All values that resonate harmoniously with the Group's commitment towards its customers and staff:

« Working together to develop the team spirit ».

Grand Théâtre de Provence

Café Zimmermann has been in artistic residence at the Grand Théâtre de Provence since 2011. This privileged relationship allows the ensemble to develop and endlessly renew ambitious projects, and to get as close as possible to the public through creative awareness activities. The work in collaboration with the cultural and educational events department at the Grand Théâtre de Provence enables us every year to improve the quality of the interventions offered to schools, health centres and other partners susceptible to these offers of mediation.

In September 2015, Café Zimmermann and the Grand Théâtre de Provence renewed their residence agreement.

Moments Musicaux des Alpes-Maritimes

Café Zimmermann’s residence project at the Sainte Réparate Cathedral in Nice was born of a common wish: to make music resonate in this beautiful baroque setting.

The association Moments Musicaux des Alpes-Maritimes was founded to share exceptional music events with a large public, lead educational actions and support charity projects and programs. In 2015, four important concerts were performed with the brilliant participation of Emöke Barath, Kristina Hammarström, Maarten Engeltjes and Les Elements chamber choir. These events were extremely successful, with all concerts fully booked.

To insure artistic quality, the programming was entrusted to Céline Frisch and Pablo Valetti. In 2016, Café Zimmermann presents 3 unheard-of programmes at the Cathedral. Céline Frisch and Pablo Valetti have also invited other ensembles famous for their authentic approach and rendition of baroque music.

Alpha

Alpha

From the Renaissance to the music of the twenty-first century, with new or established talents, Alpha is committed to ambitious projects of the highest artistic standard that often stray far from the beaten track.

Paris-based Alpha Classics is the principal label of the Franco-Belgian group Outhere Music. Building on its history of more than fifteen years and its reputation founded on early music, ALPHA acquired new momentum in 2015 by opening its catalogue to all repertories and welcoming important new artists from exceptionally diverse horizons: Anna Vinnitskaya, Véronique Gens, Hervé Niquet, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Georg Nigl, La Tempête, Nevermind, Jérémie Rhorer, Anna Prohaska, Reinoud Van Mechelen, Matthias Pintscher, and many more still to come, notably new talents, discovery and accompaniment of whom are a key priority for the label.

Alongside all these new projects, Alpha remains faithful to the artists who have made its history and its reputation such as Café Zimmermann. In order to create a stronger and more prominent label on the international scene, Alpha now brings together all the artists who previously recorded under its name along with those who recorded for Zig-Zig Territoires. This merger will make for greater coherence among the 600 recordings in the existing catalogues (especially in the field of early music, the strong point of both labels) and the new releases.

More than ever, Alpha aims to establish long-term relationships with artists, to release projects that have come to artistic maturity, to give the fullest attention to the conditions of recording, editorial content, manufacturing and communication, whether its releases are physical or digital.
