Overview

This recording has been reissued in the Essential Baroque Masterpieces collection with an exclusive interview of Céline Frisch:

"It’s true that I have an almost unconditional love for the music of Bach, which I play much more than that of any other composer. All the same, French harpsichord music has always been a fairly prominent feature of my musical sensibility. I say prominent because I played a lot of it during my studies and I always come back to it with immense pleasure. A few years back I had recorded a disc of music by Jean-Henry d’Anglebert; Rameau was the second French composer I tackled on record. Saying this, I now realise that d’Anglebert, Rameau and Bach were the three composers on the programme of my fi nal diploma recital in Basel – I played d’Anglebert’s Suite in G minor, the fourth concert from Rameau’s Pièces de clavecin en Concerts and Bach’s Partita no.4!"
