Overview

Gottfried Zimmermann’s coffee house in Leipzig, as other coffee shops, played an important role in the diffusion of new ideas. Bach became director of the collegium musicum at Zimmermann’s in 1729. It is in the spirit of these concerts and the musical dialogue that this series of recordings of the Café Zimmermann begins.
